2024 Mar 31 | Meeting family in Miami
They had an onsite laudry, so I washed everything the morning I was leaving Grenada.
I left the scrubs I had bought just for this trip. Maybe someone else can use them.
I used Haylup to get a ride to the airport.20240329_115242.jpg
It was Easter weekend, and almost all of the stores in Grenada close Friday through Sunday, including the car rental offices as the airport. Although they did leave a phone number you could call for them to come in.
The mini-market was the one store that was open.
So I was able to have a little lunch from there.

There aren't too many flights arriving...
... or departing. They are from all over, though.
Waiting area.
We flew over some other Caribbean islands.
Then took a tram to baggage pickup.
Time for customs. Mobile Passport Control and Global Entry are both available at this airport. From what I read online, Global Entry is faster at here, although at other airports, it's the opposite.
The internet was right. There was a bit of a line for Mobile Passport Control, but no line at all for Global Entry. You just walk up to one of the kiosks, it takes a few seconds to scan your face, and you walk right through. So easy.
The timing of the Grenada mission trip was perfect. I flew from San Francisco to Miami to Grenada, was there for a week, then flew to Miami, and two days later we were leaving for our cruise. Monica got us a hotel in Miami.
Monica had created books from Dad and Mom's stories; very neat.
A deer bush.
Lots of swimwear for sale.
We had dinner at Five Guys.
I didn't see the peanuts, but this guy had some.
Monica making a welcome sign for Ogii.
And Mom fixing the balloon.
We woke up early the next morning to pick Ogii up from FLL. Monica rented a ZipCar.
Sunrise at the FLL parking garage.
They have colored lines to guide you to each terminal.
I've seen these in hospitals but not airports. Good idea.
Welcoming Ogii.
Driving back down to Miami.
A guy playing a saxophone in the lobby.
Ogii and I needed massages after our busy weeks.
This place was nearby.
And next door was a fun clothing shop.
Shopping.
Some big hats.
Dad and Monica ran across a guy with some lemurs, so they called Mom down to get some pictures.
They like their snacks.
Crawling all over her head.
Both with their cookies.
We had lunch at La Mulata Cuban Restaurant.
Very pretty inside.
The ceiling cutout looks like a square with houses around us.
Nice lamp.
Jesus on crutches you give money to.
Our waitress was very nice.
Drinks.
Meat platter.
Fish platter.
Sides.
And more.
All of us.
Dessert.
Some parrots on a tree.
We can see the beach from our hotel room.
And we can see the Icon of the Seas from the beach.
Our hotel and the one next to it.
Looking north.
And south.
You have to be careful to not step on the jellyfish.
Very cool looking.
A seagull stole a chicken wing.
Monica and Mom.
In Miami.
Our shadows.
Ogii running away from a wave.
The lifeguard towers are very unique.
At sunset.
Downtown.
Nice colors.
I wonder how much this piece of land costs.
We had breakfast at The Lifeguard.
They had pictures of all of the lifeguard towers.
This was one of my favorites. They're all so bright and funky.
Pancakes.
Sides.
Sitting.
And standing.
I can hear this sign.
South Beach.
