2024 May 11 | looking for condos (909 Kapiolani, Pavilion At Waikiki, Sunset Towers)

Dust and dirt builds up fast, especially on the balcony.

Lots of dirt.

The container to catch the A/C drips is dirty, too.

Now clean.

Bird on the balcony.

They use these detergent containers to hold their sign down in front of our place.

Mural of a woman.

One box came in to the post office.

A little tear at the bottom, but overall still in good shape.

A new skyscraper going up.

Domino's pizza for lunch.

The next condos we looked at were 909 Kapiolani. I love the red and silver kitchen look.

Huge windows.

Tile and stone bathroom.

Looking to the south.

The bedroom has a balcony.

Looking north.

East. The Blaisdell Arena is right there.

Air conditioning.

One in the bedroom.

Another in the living room.

Patio outside.

Pool.

Spa.

Much better exercise room than any other one we've seen.

The foyer has the same chairs as Ogii had in California.

It's one of the many tall blue skyscrapers near Ala Moana.

Pavilion At Waikiki.

Small foyer.

Living room.

Updated kitchen.

And bathroom.

Bidet.

Large closet.

Bedroom.

It's right by the AirBnB we were in, so a similar view, except it's just a bit farther northeast.

The realtor showing Ogii the view.

You can see the clouds above the mountains.

A storage box.

The rooftop pool was being updated.

It has a great 360 view. To the south.

West.

North.

Oops, the door locked behind us. Time to walk down 28 flights of stairs.

There's a baby monk seal at the Kaimana Beach Hotel. We'll have to go see it.

Funny mural.

Yota.

Northern entrance to Chinatown.

Very nice.

Neat triangular balconies.

Another yota with huge tires.

Slow line at Walmart parking.

Many of the locals recommend Locals flip flops from Walmart.

So we bought some.

Next we looked at Sunset Towers.

It's right by the Ala Moana Mall, so your guests could probably park there if they don't stay too late.

Kitchen.

Living room.

Huge balcony.

Bedroom.

And another.

Bathroom.

One of the few places we looked at that had two bathroom.

Air conditioning.

Unfortunately this unit is a little low; otherwise the view of the harbor would be great.

Food vendor right outside.

Maybe race on three?

Sunset and moon.

There was a huge solar flare recently, which meant great auroras in the next few days. We're too far south to see them in Hawaii. We thought about flying to Seattle for the night, but thought that would be too expensive. We'll see them sometime in the future when we're farther north.

They're a 40th anniversary of the 1980s Transformers movie showing at Regal theaters. That's neat.

You can buy a refillable soda cup or popcorn bucket for Regal Cinemas to save some money if you go to movies there a lot.

There used to be a drink container called the Regalator.

Which was much cheaper.

They've gone through a few different cups over the years, from Pepsi to Coke to Pepsi, making the cup smaller each time.

I see some of the second Coke ones on eBay, but none of the original Pepsi ones. Also, if you bring the second Coke one into a theater, they'll try to make to exchange it for the third Pepsi one, which doesn't look nearly as neat.

They still honor the $1 refills, although it's so old, many of the staff don't know how to ring it up. If we went to movies more, maybe it's be something to consider buying on eBay.

Ogii using her binoculars to look around.

Someone getting a lot of boxes delivered from USPS.

Not having laundry in the unit isn't too bad.

Especially when the semi-open floor it's on has such a nice view.

Although these lounge chairs are kind of nasty.

The ones by the pool are much cleaner.

Nobody in the pool right now.

Airplane flying by a building.

Makai means towards the ocean and mauka means towards the mountains.

Yota with a surf board.
