2024 May 31 | hair cut, Mitsuwa grocery store, murals near Cooke St and Ala Moana Blvd
The sprinklers at the golf course between 5:30am and 6:00am.
It looks like they're setting up for graduation at the school.
Yep.
I needed a haircut, and this place was close.
A bit confusing to enter, as it's through a parking garage. The arrow on the photo on Google Maps helped.
That looks like it.
A very small place around the corner of the parking.
She did a great job.
They used to have a bigger location somewhere else. I wonder if rent got too expensive.
It's actually the parking attached to the Sheraton Princess Hotel. You could also get to the hair salon by going through their lobby...
... past the elevators and into the parking structure; the hair salon is just to the right.
Mitsuwa is a Japanese grocery store in the International Marketplace.
It's not too big, but they fit a lot of food into the space.
All kinds of Japanese snacks.

They have a few small restaurants as well. This one has wagyu.
A dining area.

Toy vending machines.
Google Maps has a picture of mochi donuts, which is what I was interested in.
Unfortunately, they don't have them any more.
Maybe this other bakery has mochi donuts.
Or this one.
Or this one. I'll have to check.
Donut King across the street doesn't have mochi donuts.
But they do have some others.
They look very fresh.
Neat artwork with the surfboard tips.
Error 1 on the washer. I guess this rug sucked up too much water and got too heavy. Easy fix to ring it out.
Donuts for lunch.
Along with fruit.
Not really sure how to eat them, but Ogii peeled them.
Big nut inside.
Cutting the big one open.
Fruit in there.
Starting to put chairs up for graduation.
This is a pretty standard outfit for me in Hawaii: cargo shorts and sandals. Although even the cargo shorts are too thick and hot for me, so I prefer to wear athletic shorts.
Cool Bank of Hawaii building.
On the same block as a First Hawaiian Bank.
Surf school bus.
More chairs.
Fruit goes bad very quickly here.
The strawberries got moldy in just a couple of days.
Landmark Waikiki is still one of our favorite buildings, and we pass it whenever we come from the northwest.
No left turn here, but only when cones are up. I wonder who has to put the cones up?
The higher balconies are larger.
Walmart still has the cool cutlery Mom bought us.
Now we have to do some math to decide if it's better to buy them as a set or individually.
I love papasan chairs.
Ogii loves the Moana Pacific Towers.
I wonder how long it will take them to finish this one?
I like the square that tilts out of the left building, the Hawaiki Tower.
The top stairs lead to a rooftop patio.
Father and son mural.

There are a ton of murals near Cooke St and Ala Moana Blvd. This is Magneto.

The police cars usually leave these two blue lights on, which makes them easy to spot.
Sunrise.
Rain in the mountains.
Sunlight poking through the clouds.
One stone chess piece's head broke off during the move. I tried to super glue it, but it didn't hold at all.
I'll buy some stone glue and see if that works.
Almost set up for graduation.
Ogii dropped this bottle on her foot, and she got a huge welt.
We put a cold cloth over it for a while.
And it went back down. Glad we didn't have to get it checked out.
I tried cutting up a pineapple and failed miserably. I only ended up with five small pieces to eat. I avoided the core and outer skin too much. Going to have to practice more.
Watching the Friday night fireworks from our balcony.
