2024 Jun 15 | Koolau Night Market, KCC farmer's market, Queen Kapiolani Garden

Murals around Office Depot.

And at the Foodland grocery store next door.

I wanted a keyboard, but I don't want to spend $140.

Or even $40.

There we go, $15.

They have lap desks like the one I found on Facebook Marketplace. I didn't even know such a thing existed before.

Even more of them.

Mats for the office chair. Again, I'm not paying $90 when the $45 one works.

I need a monitor, too, although they don't have too many.

Mural of a huge wave.

We were watching Fleabag, and this bus stop has some graffiti. I bet that means something to the show. A little Googling, and yep, it's the vocative case of 'life' in Serbian, like when you are saying, 'Fuck my life.'

These little pieces of fabric or whatever are in the edge of the window in the kitchen.

Sometimes pieces of it fall down when we open or close the window. I wonder what they are? Hopefully not asbestos.

My desk is a bit too high, so I ordered an under-desk pull-out keyboard tray.

Ogii put it together.

It works great.

One problem with Safeway is they're often out of grocery carts.

So you have to follow someone and grab theirs after they're done with it.

Cherries on sale.

Meat on sale.

Over half off.

Cool oreos.

Long line for self checkout right before noon.

Long lines at the other checkouts, too.

They go back past the aisles. Gotta come earlier or later in the future.

Their $5 special was ribs and barrel tots, yum.

Driving to the east. There's a star with a statue in the hillside.

Yota.

The Koolau Night Market.

Live music.

Vendors.

This one looks good for dinner.

Working hard to make the food.

This one has andagi, but I don't know what that is.

Hmm, I still can't tell.

Google to the rescue.

They're basically donuts.

Ogii ready to eat.

There were some jewelry vendors, too.

It was held in the Koolau Center parking lot. We wandered over to the mall, which had this nice mosaic, after the market.

Pretty waterfall inside.

Info on it.

Dairy Queen doesn't have any of the ice cream cupcakes I love, only cakes.

A fair number of stores.

A fair number of optometrists.

Ogii got to shop a bit.

Plumeria.

Fun license plate.

Breakfast on our balcony.

Ogii prepared it.

Some boaters below.

We went to the KCC farmer's market on Saturday morning.

It's one of the biggest ones.

Produce.

Food.

More produce.

Deep fried sandwiches.

Cookies.

Mochi and empanadas.

Hemp and CBD.

Fruit sandwiches.

Music.

Flowers.

Cane juice.

A stand with lots of produce.

"Please don't squeeze."

Andy with Andy's Bueno Salsa is originally from California.

Which should mean his salsa is good.

Tortilla chips made in Hawaii.

More food.

Butter mochi.

Ogii with some of her goodies.

So many flowers on this tree.

Same with these.

Very pretty.

This one has more pink than yellow.

Nice tile roof.

Aloha cafe.

Guys riding in the back of a pickup.

The Queen Kapiolani Garden has this nice little shaded area.

With some large trees above benches.

Walking along a path.

Fruit in the trees.

Butterflies.

A huge yellow poinciana tree.

From the other side.

A little gazebo.

Ogii enjoying the grass.

Baby chickens trying to keep up with mama.

This small black bird was dive bombing the larger white bird.

It must be near their nest.

Hawaii School for the Deaf & Blind is nearby.

Time to try some of our new fruit from the market.

It was OK, but not great.

Trying to figure out if we can eat the rambutan seeds.

Looks like the answer is no.

They've been thinking about building another bridge over the Ala Wai canal for years. The people who commute in to Waikiki from elsewhere want it; the people who live in Waikiki do not.

All white cars.

Go EV.

Heaven.
