300 miles to go on the Prius.
If I drove all around the island, including out and back from the western edges, it would take 5 hours but only be 175 miles because the speed limits are mostly so low.
Because the highways are really only in the south-central part of the island and not very long.
So I drove on the highways with higher speed limits.
All the way up to 60 for a few miles.
But then back down.
To 45.
And if I keep going north on this road...
... it's mostly through towns with even lower speed limits, so better to turn around and go back on the highway.
A ton of cars parked along this beach, even on the grass all along the road.
There's a skydive company nearby.
Another hot lava orange RAV4. I think that's the first one I've seen.
Very lifted yota.
The wind blew all of the pool floats to one side.
Another shaka plate, this one with ET.
Driving to north shore through the middle of the island.
I love going across the bridge with all of the green foliage on both sides.
A bumper sticker for the Mystery Spot in Santa Cruz.
No vending.
Although there are some homeless tents.
With a beautiful view of a lake.
Big tree with many red-orange flowers.
The mountains to the southwest.
It's nice when you can see the ocean.
Huge tree.
Haleiwa.
There are some shrimp food trucks here.
Plenty of shops.
More food.
A line for the chicken.
Many stores downtown.
Ogii wanted to take me to Teddy's Bigger Burgers.
Beat the boss at Connect 4 for a free burger.
Many different choices.
Cool decorations on the ceiling.
A blowfish light.
Our food arrived.
Burger and onion rings.
Very good.
A chicken ran in and around for a bit.
What day is "Thuesday?"
Ah, Thursday.
Walking along the shops.
Some of the buildings are from the early 1900s.
Central area.
With a very long line for shave ice.
More shops.
I think this sandal is a little big for Ogii.
Art.
Photographer.
Lots of water.
Printed on all types of products.
Eyes license plate.
I'm not sure what DOCSFA is.
Or OHSOF9.
A large community garden on the drive back.
These two towers stand out.
Flowers mural.
Big rainbow.
And just a touch of rain while we grill steaks.
And asparagus.
Cleaning the grill afterwards.
An outlet this guy was using to charge something in his car. Good to know that's there.
Ogii spelling out "ALOHA" with lights on our balcony.
They have a timer so we can set them to only be on at hight.
I love seeing the little sections of rain lit up by the sun.
The lights are on.
We drove across the canal to check them out. They look good.
The community gardens here.
Which has a huge waitlist; they aren't even taking new names at the moment.
Some people playing basketball.
And a cat hiding in the bushes.
I like the answers to "Do you like what you see" on this website.
I got a Herman Miller Aeron chair on Craigslist in California for only a few hundred dollars, and I loved it. It was too expensive to ship, so we sold it before we moved. There were quite a lot of them for sale in California. Unfortunately, there's only one or two here, and they're much more.
No cheaper on Facebook Marketplace.
New they're much more expensive.
A bit cheaper on Amazon, but still in the thousands, not hundreds.
Madison Seating has some, even cheaper than Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace, but still almost double what I payed in California on Craigslist. Maybe I'll try to adjust my current chair some more.
