2024 Jun 22 | Kakaako farmer's market, Sharon's Plants and Koba's Nursery

A shaka plate.

And another.

Cool towers.

A Texas BBQ place; we'll have to try that some time.

Waterfront towers.

A BJ Penn UFC gym.

We went to the Kakaako farmer's market.

A very long line here...

... for smash burgers.

Fruit.

This farmer's market is another big one; maybe just a bit smaller than KCC.

Da Tomato Guy.

With chips and salsa.

Jewelry.

Lots of food.

More produce.

A bakery with bread.

And pastries.

A bit of a line for it.

More vendors.

Omelettes.

Skewers.

Plants.

A seating area, although it was full.

So we sat in the grass for our breakfast.

It has a nice view of many of the blue skyscrapers.

Checking out more of the murals in the area.

People and nature.

Women.

All kinds of subjects.

Looks like a Japanese anime robot.

Monster faces.

Nautical theme and a face.

Space and tiger.

The other side.

Mermaid.

Rats in hoodies sneaking around.

Silhouettes.

Women.

Many people.

Sea turtle.

Sea turtles and dolphins.

People and animals.

We wanted a dwarf plumeria tree for the balcony. All of the nurseries are close to each other on the southern windward side of the island since it gets so much rain.

Our first stop was Sharon's plants.

Beautiful view of the mountains.

Some of the nurseries are very large, so they use golf carts to get around.

The wind blew this tree over, so Ogii put it back up. The wind blew it right back down again, though.

The leaves capture rain.

Crown flowers.

This chicken liked to ride in the golf cart.

She hitched a ride to the front office.

She doesn't want to get out.

Sprouts growing out of a leaf.

They didn't have any dwarf plumerias, so we went to Kona's Nursery.

They had some cats hanging out.

A dwarf plumeria; perfect.

Taking that to the front to purchase. Although let's look around and see if there's anything else.

The false bird of paradise / hanging lobster claws are beautiful.

I love how the edges alternate.

Smaller ones.

Puffy flower.

Seeing how these smell.

A bee way up in this flower.

Neat mural over there.

The US flag, Hawaii flag, and McDonald's flag.

Another Ben Franklin.

A skate park.

Neat old car.

Very fishy truck.

Florida license plate.

Putting our new plumeria in a pot.

Don't want to damage the roots.

This suit at Saks Off 5th looks cool.

Although even on sale, I don't want to spend $200. I'm in Hawaii now; when will I ever wear a suit?

These slippers are a bit gaudy.

And expensive.

Versace tennis shoes.

A face on the bottom.

Flamingo heal.

I would pay $20 for them but not $340.

I really like some of the Effy jewelry, like this panther.

I'm not paying $8,000, though.

Although they are having a huge sale; 70% + 10% off. If it's eligible for those, it would be $2,169.45, still too much.

Checking online at Macy's, it's $7,100.

If you get it with black spinel instead of black diamonds and in silver instead of gold, though, it's less than a fifth of that price. Still too much, especially because I'd never wear it. But it's still cool looking.

I like the snake rings, too, although still very expensive, around $3,000.

They have cheaper ones on a rack. Not quite as cool looking.

But only $20.

US Government license plate.
