2024 Jul 21 | Lance and Sarah: Wet N Wild casino night, Hanauma Bay

You have to reserve Hanauma Bay two days in advance, right at 7am.

By 7:02am, almost everything is sold out.

And gone at 7:03am. Thankfully we got some tickets.

There are no large or small packages at the post office stand. I bet they have more in the back, though.

Ogii fell asleep watching her phone, and she's still holding it while asleep.

Kentucky.

We've seen a few Florida, but this is the first one with the sunset surfer.

Yota.

Big cloud lit up at sunset.

We drove to Wet N Wild for their casino night, an adults-only event in the evening.

The had craps.

Ogii shooting.

Sarah.

And Lance.

We knew the basics but not much more; the guys at the other end of the table knew a lot.

Photo with some Vegas icons.

The roulette table was packed.

There were some open blackjack spots, though.

They had a couple of tables.

Ogii got a blackjack! All the chips are for fun, though; no real money.

All of the water slides are over here.

People coming down.

The lagoon had music and dancing.

A video.

We stopped by Walmart to get some snorkel gear.

A travel set with a roll-up snorkel. I wonder how well it stays up in the water.

A ton of traffic going out from Honolulu at 10pm and almost none going in.

Uh oh, someone spilled some sticky juice in the elevator.

I'll clean it up so it doesn't attract bugs.

All good.

I walked over to Maleko Coffee and Pastries.

Because on Google Maps, it shows they have mochi donuts.

However, they no longer sell them.

They said they sold so many more malasadas that they only make those now instead.

Ogii cutting up some dragonfruit.

This Hickory Thick Cut bacon by Wright from Foodland is the best bacon we've found so far.

Breakfast.

Some people like the dragonfruit skin, but it looks a little to scaly for me.

At Hanauma Bay.

If you're a resident, you don't have to reserve a time spot and it's free to get in. Also, if you've been there within the past year, you don't have to re-watch the video. That's nice.

So pretty.

You can rent snorkel gear from this kiosk.

Along with umbrellas and chairs.

The rental umbrellas are all together at the south end of the beach. The jam them very deep down into the sand so they don't blow away.

Ogii coming back from snorkeling.

Lance and Sarah headed out.

A bird came to see if we had any food.

It looks like it could sprinkle a bit. Although if you're snorkeling in the ocean, what's the difference?

Our turn to head out again.

Us.

An anemone hidden in a rock hole.

Very bright.

This one blends in more.

Getting pictures and videos of the fish.

Three different types.

Even more.

It's nice and shallow, so if you have a problem, you can simply stand up.

Two rainbow-colored ones.

Bright yellow edges.

With a neon blue stripe.

A fish near Sarah.

The mask and snorkel she bought worked well.

I like the beaks on the parrotfish so they can chomp the coral.

A video.

The north side of the beach is always the busiest.

The middle is less busy.

And the south side is almost empty.

Next we went to Nisshodo Candy Store. It's in a very industrial area rather than a shopping one.

They've won lots of awards.

And been around for a long time.

Many types of mochi.

A lot of people were buying them today.

Even multiple packages. I think there's some festival going on.

Michigan.

Yota.

To Nico's Fish Market for lunch.

Indoor / outdoor seating.

Live music.

Many bright drinks.

Lots of seafood.

Even more.

Pretty bar area.

We got some combo plates.

Pretty sunrise.

And a full moon on the other side.

Slowly setting.

Behind the building.

A couple of light rainbows in the valley.
