2024 Oct 11 | wisdom tooth out, Seinfeld final episode, Burlesque at HoMA

Ogii is putting up her witch for Halloween.

She still lights up.

Putting her by the railing so she can see better.

We're very high up, though.

So you can barely see her from across the canal.

Time to get a wisdom tooth out. There's some bone loss from the tooth in front of it, and they think if they remove it, the tooth in front might survive.

A pretty sunset and beach fire on their TV.

There's a ton of space in the ceiling. They could close that off and build more rooms up there.

Pretty mural out the window.

The doctor likes the Denver Broncos.

He got it out and put a few sutures in.

Which I'll need to go back to have removed in a few weeks.

Picking up my meds at CVS. That's a really huge discount; too bad we have no use for it.

It was going to take them a few minutes to get the meds ready, so I wandered over to the Royal Hawaiian Center. This area is on an upper floor; it looks like they use it for seating for events.

Some people were hanging out there to charge their phones.

Nice fans.

Stussy has a super-long line, as always.

Kulu Kulu bakery has some cute puffs.

I bought one for Ogii.

She didn't want to hurt the turtle, so I took it's head off quickly so it wouldn't suffer.

Only soft food for a few weeks after my tooth removal.

A few birds up by our balcony. We almost never see them this high.

Pretty sunrise.

Some rain.

A timelapase of the clouds moving during sunrise.

Cruise ship in the ocean.

Non-native fruit seems to go back very quickly. Especially strawberries; they only last for a day or two.

Another nice sunrise.

Where the sun will come up.

Rain in the valley.

Clouds above it.

We'd been wondering how we could clean the outside of our windows. It turns out we don't have to.

The final episode of Seinfeld.

He was also the FBI analyst in My Cousin Vinny.

That sounds like they're going to bring back a lot of previous characters.

Yep. George had a very short fuse and was always fighting with people.

Elaine seemed to be the meanest one.

Jerry never seemed especially mean. In fact, he was often trying to help people, but it just didn't work out.

And Kramer was simply in his own little world, but never actively out to get people.

The trial doesn't seem to be going very well for them.

Nope.

Jerry is still doing standup, though.

Ogii's favorite skyscrapers.

A fresh bread slicer at Whole Foods.

They do have some great food there.

A low rainbow.

A helicopter flying by with a very light second one.

You are great. That's nice.

The lower clouds become colorful first, and then, if you wait a few minutes...

... the upper ones do, too.

Towards the ocean.

People in the Midwest are seeing auroras.

They're very bright.

The first time we've had that Wordle pattern.

The truck driver directing traffic up this ramp as you can't see around the trucks.

Ogii's skyscrapers with some nice clouds above them.

Spirit Halloween.

Fun entrance.

I'm looking for small stick-on jewels. Here they are.

What to watch after Seinfeld? Let's try Night Court.

We went to the Honolulu Museum of Art for the 10th Annual Hawaii Burlesque Festival & Revue: Run the Jewels.

First there was a performance by Volary Aerial Burlesque in the courtyard.

Big feathers.

Stretched legs.

People cheered the loudest when the rigger changed the equipment.

Another performer.

Another.

And a guy.

A few video clips of them.

You can buy some drinks here.

A nice mural on the wall. Unfortunately we weren't able to check out the rest of the museum.

We were pretty close to the front of the line.

Lots of people behind us.

Our outfits.

A heart of lights in a nearby condo.

Colorful ceiling light.

The first half of the program.

And the second.

No photography during the show. It was very fun.

Some of the performers at the end. I think we liked the dragon the best; very unique.

You could meet the performers afterwards.

We also got these little jewels on the way out. They were for a secret afterparty, but we had to move the car as the lot was closing soon, so we left. We should have just re-parked on the street and went back.

Even though I sweated a fair amount while outside because it was hot and humid and I was in long pants, the stick-on jewels all stayed in place.
