With tourist items. When we were there, the store music was starting to go out. Then, when we were checking out, the clerk couldn't find his phone. We tried calling it a few times, but there was no answer. It turns out the clerk had accidentally put his phone in the bag of the people before us along with their items. Which explains the music; as they were walking away, the bluetooth connection between the phone and the store music broke down. They noticed the phone and brought it back a few minutes later.

Lanai City is in the center of the island. Garden of the Gods is about 30 minutes northwest. Polihua Beach is beyond that, but the Jeep rental guy said don't go there because the road is too bad. We decided to skip Garden of the Gods as it looked pretty barren.
Hulopoe Beach and the Four Seasons resort is 20 minutes south.
Shipwreck Beach, where we're going next, is 30 minutes northeast.
We passed what was the Lanai Bamboo Garden Retreat.
It seems it was a hostel, although the last reviews are from around 10 years ago.
And it's for sale now.

There's a trail with petroglyphs.
I wanted to walk around it, but the guy we rented the Jeep from said the tide was coming up later this afternoon, and we could get stuck on the beach if water comes across the road along one of the many inlets, so Ogii said we better skip the trail and head back instead.
I guess I can just look at the pictures on Google Maps.
And we at least have to get a quick picture of a shipwreck.

We made it past the last inlet without the water blocking us off.
Although the bumpy driving did shake up our soda.

I'm not sure why this rope is here, but it makes for a nice foreground.

Sensei Lanai, A Four Seasons Resort. This seems to be a smaller hotel than the main one on the south side of the island. The rooms are around $1,000 a night, but the website says that "luxury charters flights from Honolulu are included." Although a round-trip flight is around $150.

We stayed at Hotel Lanai, which was only $400 per night. Well, "only" compared to the $1000 per night at the Four Seasons.
