2025 Sep 19 | Las Vegas: Kase Sake & Sushi, R-Rated Magic Show

A robot bartender.

Very 80s/90s neon sign.

That looks like a neat dessert.

The casino looks very opulent until you start walking to the rideshare; then it's very industrial.

A few other people waiting.

It got a bit crowded for the cars.

Another car with ads in the back window.

Passing the Rio.

I like the glow in blacklight look, but that's a lot of adjectives in the name.

Most law firm signs just have one or two lawyers; this one has an entire crew.

Not only is the light not on at Luxor, this entire wall is covered by an ad. Sad to see.

The metal sheep above the bridges.

A t-rex sculpture.

I like the look of this hotel/apartments, but I like the name even more: Otonomous. The name comes from it having AI-powered services, like check-in.

We had lunch at Kase Sake & Sushi because one of Ogii's friends from LA is the chef there.

Inside.

Sake.

Salad.

Miso soup.

Edamame.

Truffle Toro Crudo.

Which has caviar.

Japanese A5 wagyu.

Cooked at the table.

The chef and I.

Ogii with her food.

A bonus dish of sashimi and shrimp he made for us.

Our check-in time was 4pm, but Harrah's emailed us at 1:30 that we could check in early for free. Perfect timing, as we just got done with lunch and were headed back to The Strip.

Very American mural.

It's an adult bookstore.

The T-Mobile arena looks cool.

As do these three skyscrapers.

Rooftop lounge above the Cromwell.

I tried using the self check-in kiosks, but they wouldn't accept my ID. I wonder if the Hawaii driver's licenses are too shiny to be read.

Thankfully there wasn't much of a line.

Neat mural.

Our room.

Bathroom.

Bedroom.

Our room was a strip view. We can see Caesar's Palace below, but that's about it; the hotels to the left and right block most of the strip.

The mountains in the distance look nice, though.

Not many people in this small pool.

I don't like that some of the lamps in the hallways are angled instead of straight.

Only a short walk to dinner.

We passed the Fulton Street Food Hall.

Ramsey's Kitchen didn't seem to be quite where Google Maps said it was, but there were some signs to lead the way.

Etnrance.

Nice design.

A lower area.

With an interesting picture of Gordon Ramsey.

Pea and asparagus soup.

Roasted chicken breast.

Beef Wellington, their signature dish.

Sticky toffee pudding for dessert.

Us.

Ogii pressing some more slot machines.

More of these did something.

This guy had his own pillow and sheets.

It's about a 15-minute walk to Planet Hollywood. Maybe we could take the monorail?

I don't feel like paying $5 a person, though; let's walk instead.

It's fun to look at stuff along the way, anyway, like this pizza vending machine.

And this purple zebra.

In the middle of The Linq. We're just trying to get out to the strip.

We're out; now just to find the strip.

There we go. Behind the group of custom shirts with the guy's face.

Nice statue at Caesar's.

A little outdoor strip mall.

SUV limo.

Sexy women cops posing for pictures.

Transformer getting into his suit.

The elevated walkways are a nice idea to not have pedestrians interfere with traffic so much.

Another little strip mall.

At Horseshoe.

Bellagio fountains are still going.

The clouds are lighting up for sunset.

Very bright underneath.

This guy was making roses.

And Ogii wanted one.

Into Planet Hollywood.

Sparkly suits.

We were headed to the V Theater in the back.

Bar on the second floor.

Looking down.

The R-Rated Magic Show.

We were in the front row.

The logo.

It was a small venue and the magician was very interactive with the audience.

Giving the guy a balloon hat.

Now they both have them.

Swallowing a balloon.

And a much bigger one.

Out into the audience again.

Behind a screen.

With some blow-up dolls.

My turn to help out.

I had the key.

Behind a curtain.

Working his way out.

And he's free.

A photo with him afterwards.

Ogii went shopping in Victoria's Secret.

While I finished off our drinks.

A pretty picture of the Bay Bridge.

I wanted a pretzel, but it was around the other side of the mall.

Popcorn was right here, though.

I'm not a fan of the cheese.

But I love the carmel.

We're a bit thirsty from the popcorn, so time for a drink.

A very big drink.

Like the Venetian, Planet Hollywood's poker room was moved from the middle of the casino to farther back inside the hotel. It used to be out here.

And now it's back here.

There was a waitlist and it didn't seem like anyone was leaving soon, so we left.

Cool building.

It's legal to drink on the strip.

A giant dancing gorilla.

What's this?

A video camera that spins around you.

Into the Horseshoe.

Except not this way.

Through here instead.

To their poker room.

Where we got into a game right away.

We were lucky and able to get a table together.

Ogii made her flush, but the other guy made a full house.

Ogii winning with her queens. I was ready to go, but Ogii wanted to play a bit more, so we stayed for a while.

Back in our room and time for bed. I couldn't finish the drink. I think it was mostly sugar and not very much alcohol; it was very sweet.
