The rental car shuttle is only a few minutes walk from the Hawaiian Airlines terminal, but the rental car shuttle comes fairly often.
The Skyline rail now comes to the airport.
The first segment to the west, from Ewa Beach to the Aloha Stadium, opened on 6/30/23. The second segment to the airport opened 10/16/25. The third segment to downtown and Civic Center is planned to open 2031, and then a fourth segment to Ala Moana Center is planned later. That seems backwards; it seems there would be many more people headed to and from the airport from Waikiki than from the west, but maybe it was harder to get permits and perform construction in downtown. Plus, the buses to and from Waikiki and the airport seem pretty good, although a bit slower than cars; I wonder what the travel time comparison will be versus the rail when it's done.
We don't even have to stop at the checkout counter to pick up our Budget Rental car; we just go straight to it.
Ogii dropped me off at the Oahu Country Club for a CE meeting.
