2025 Nov 16 | A Taste of Kona

There was a rummage sale by the coffee festival.

They were closing down, but we saw these three chairs.

Only $3 a piece.

A path to the beach.

With a big tree some people were sitting under.

This rock looks like a heart.

The beach.

This area looks procted from the waves.

Colorful truck.

Bright flowers.

Ogii cleaning her new chairs.

All of the coffee we bought.

And ogii's flowers.

Pretty trees at sunset.

That evening was the A Taste of Kona at the Outrigger. It's raining, though.

Aloha sign.

We each had a big umbrella. The two women in front of us didn't have one.

So we gave them one of ours.

Many booths.

Live music.

Our first stop.

Was the Outrigger chef.

All of the booths had small bites.

This booth...

... had desserts.

This one...

... had more food.

Us with the leis we made at the Coffee Festival.

Eating the next round of food.

KGH Catering was winning many of the votes.

They had smoked prime rib.

Lobster crab cakes.

And desserts.

All very good.

There was also a bar, so we got some wine.

This booth had coffee.

Light and dark roasts.

And snacks.

One one hand, since it's pouring rain, our wine keeps getting watered down. On the other hand, it's comstantly refilling our wine cups.

More booths over here.

Different drinks.

Flavored sparking water.

Trying it.

It was really pouring.

These tables were all set up for the VIPs. However, nobody was there. I wonder if they had seating for all of them inside instead? The non-VIPs had to find open, uncovered tables. You'd think a huge resort like this could go to Walmart and buy a few more canopies to cover all of the tables.

They found a few more to cover an area for dancing to the band.

More food.

Very pretty.

A silent auction. I feel bad for them as not many people are buying things due to the rain.

More food.

Kanpachi cervice.

Even more booths.

Coffee infused beef brisket.

We're getting pretty full now.

But still enjoying all of the different tastes.

Beef birria tacos.

With eclairs.

Punching the water off of the canopy.

One last stop.

Even though it was very wet, itw as still very fun, with lots of great food.

Uh oh, the sign's ripped. Does it say don't use the elevator during the storm?

The button from the festival this year.

The hot water in the guest shower wouldn't turn off.

Although we could turn off all of the hot water to our unit with this handle beside the washer and dryer.

All of the fixtures in the guest bathroom are pretty corroded.

Including the shower head.

And the shower curtain rail. Maybe they'll replace them when they fix the hot water.

Ogii trying to clean the corrosion off of the faucet.

With a sponge soaked in vinegar wrapped in paper towels.

A gecko on the ceiling.

Ogii made pancakes.

The flower is staring a few sprouts.

Our counter is covered with stuff.

Ogii hung her star on the shade; that's smart.

Some goats.

Horses in a trailer.

Stopping at Walmart to buy another large umbrella to replace the one we gave away.

Arnold Palmer Lite vs Diet.

One has no added sugars.

And the other has 36%. That's crazy.

Forever roll of toilet paper.

These guys sell carnitas on the side of the road on weekends.

Cooking.

The meat.

They were very good; quite spicy.

A pig in the neighbor's yard.

A few of them.

We bought a timer for our lights.

So they automatically turn on at night.

Along the whole balcony.
